Smoke monster takes out Richard, Locke makes a deal with Ben

Locke arrives on the main island and sees Zoe and Widmore's gear in an outrigger canoe. He looks at in for a moment then moves on.

The the barracks, Zoe arrives and tells Widmore that they need to go. Widmore tells them that they are going to hide in Ben's secret room. Ben says that he's not going to hide because Locke's going to find him sooner or later.

Miles says that he's going to survive by running through the jungle, but before he leaves, Ben asks for Widmore and Zoe's walkie talkies and gives one to Miles. Before Widmore goes into the secret room, he tells Ben that Locke is going to kill him. Ben says "Then I guess this is goodbye."

Richard then decides that he's going to talk to Locke, since all he wants is for him to join him. As Richard and Ben slowly walk outside, they suddenly hear the sound of the smoke monster approaching. In one motion, the smoke monster catches Richard by the neck and tosses him off into the distance.

Ben is stunned, but slowly sits down in a chair in front of his old house. Locke appears and sits down next to him, ominously playing with his knife. He says that Ben is who he was looking for and Ben offers him some lemonade. Locke tells Ben that he wants him to kill some people, and if he does, he can have the island after he leaves.

Ben hesitantly agrees and then after Locke asks whose outrigger is down at the dock, Ben tells him it's Widmore's. When Locke asks where Widmore is, Ben gives it up that they're hiding in his closet.

We're left wondering the fate of Richard, who is not seen for the rest of the episode. We also don't see Miles again. Ben was quick to give up Widmore to Locke, but Widmore is certainly the one person Ben has no interest in forgiving.

Ben, Richard & Miles get C-4 from the barracks, discover Widmore & Zoe

We finally see Ben, Miles and Richard again, making their way through the jungle towards the barracks. Miles questions whether Ben's short cut is accurate and Ben says he lived at the barracks a long time and he knows how to get there. Mile hits back saying he lived there 30 years ago, "otherwise known as last week." It's nice to see a little humor return to the show.

Once they arrrive at the barracks, Miles starts getting that dead body feeling and says that he get "wonky around dead stuff." Ben asks him if he has something to share and before Miles can say anything, Richard says that Alex is buried there. He says that he buried Alex's body after Ben left the island. Ben pauses and looks down at the ground then thanks Richard.

They then enter Ben's old house where he immediately moves the bookcase, revealing his secret room. Miles notices the door where Ben summoned the smoke monster and asks what it is. Ben says that it is where he was told he could summon the smoke monster, but he now knows that it was really summoning him.

Behind the hanging shirts, there is a safe that Ben opens to reveal six bricks of C-4. Ben asks Richard if they want to cripple the plane or "blow it to hell," and Richard chooses the latter, so they take a six bricks.

They suddenly hear a noise, and leave the room to discover Zoe in the kitchen. They point their rifles at her and Ben asks who she is. Then Charles Widmore enters house and says that she' with him. Ben looks completely stunned to see Widmore.

Sawyer listens to Iggy & the Stooges, knows Locke is not Locke

Locke/Smokey makes his way to the Dharma barracks where he goes to Sawyer and Juliet's old house. The song blasting on the record player is "Search & Destroy" by Iggy and the Stooges which features the lyric "I'm a runaway son of the nuclear A-bomb," seemingly a reference to the bomb detonation in "The Incident."

Locke finds Sawyer in the bedroom drinking Dharma whiskey. Sawyer doesn't care that Locke is supposed to be dead, but he does realize that the man is not John Locke. Sawyer says that John Locke was always scared, but the man he's looking at is not scared. Locke says that he can tell Sawyer the answer to the most important question in the world which is why Sawyer is on the island.

Smoke monster's point of view + Richard Alpert hanging in tree

On the island, for the first time we see the smoke monster traveling across the island to the barracks. He/it stops briefly at Sawyer's house where the song "Search and Destroy" by Iggy and the Stooges can be heard. We can see the smoke monster's reflection in the window of the house.

It then moves on back through the jungle, where it changes back into John Locke once it comes across a machete. He cuts Richard Alpert down, who is hanging in a sack from a tree. Richard looks terrified, which is something we really haven't seen before. Locke tells him that it is "Time to talk."

Kate finds Sawyer at the barracks, he unearths a box

We see Kate wander into the barracks looking for Sawyer. The barracks looks are run down and dilapidated, just as we see them when Sun, Ben, Frank and Locke were there in season 5.

Kate makes her way to Sawyer and Juliet's old house where she observes him pulling up some floorboards and pulling a shoebox out from under them. He pulls out a small pouch from the box, which we later learn contains and engagement ring intended for Juliet. When he hears Kate, he pulls a gun on her before noticing who it is. He walks past her out of the house, hardly saying anything to her.

Roger Linus shoots Sayid, Jack opens fire on the Dharma folk

Jack and Sayid sneak through Horace's house after entering it through the hole in the tunnel. They look out the window and see Dharma security and other members running around. Sayid decides to don Horace's jumpsuit and try to blend in as they walk through the barracks.

As they make their way through the barracks, Phil is advising the security personnel on their assignments. Numerous people seem to look at Sayid and Jack in an odd way, but no one stops them until Roger Linus sees them. Roger screams at Sayid and points his shotgun at him. Roger says "You're the son of a bitch who shot my kid." Sayid tries to warn him that he's carrying a nuclear device but Roger shoots him in the abdomen before he can finish.

Jack opens fire on Roger and the rest of the Dharma folk who are now shooting at him and Sayid. He takes at least one guy down before he pulls Sayid behind one of the houses for cover. Jack reloads and grabs Sayid as he tries to make his way away from the shooters. He takes out another Dharma member before Hurley, Miles and Jin roll speed towards them in a van.

Jin opens the side door and tells them to get in. Jack tells Hurley to drive and they speed away. The back window is shot out as they make their escape.

Hurley stocks up on Dharma food, Pierre learns that Miles is his son

Hurley is packing a bunch of food from the Dharma pantry including corn, chicken soup and vanilla cookies. He then heads across the barracks where security is running through with guns. He is still carrying the guitar he had on Ajira flight 316. Pierre Chang sees him and starts following.

Hurley meets Jin and Miles just outside the barracks and asks them what the rescue plan is. Miles says they're going to the beach and that they can't save Sawyer and Juliet because they're outnumbered.

Pierre Chang walks up and Miles asks what he's doing there. Pierre says he could ask them the same thing and Hurley replies "But we asked you first." Pierre asks if Daniel was telling the truth when he said that they were from the future. Hurley says "Dude, that's ridiculous." Pierre asks him what year he was born and Hurley says 1931. Pierre says "You're 46?"and Hurley says yes. Pierre asks "So you fought in the Korean War?" Hurley pauses and says "There's no such thing." Miles and Jin share a "Yikes" look. Pierre then asks who the president of the United States is and Hurley gives in and says that they are from the future.

Pierre steps towards Miles and asks if it's true then that he is his son. Miles confirms that it is true though the moment they share is brief. Pierre then says that Daniel told him to evacuate everyone off the island because there would be a massive accident at the Swan station. He asks Miles is this is true and Miles says "He's been right about everything so far." Miles says that if Daniels said to get people off of the island, "I'd do it." Pierre says "Let's hope he knows what he's doing."

Pierre learns that Miles is his son, but instead of having a brief moment to enjoy it, the approaching crisis does not allow it. It would have been nice if they had a more emotional moment, but there might still be time for that.

Sawyer and Juilet are captured by Radzinsky

Back at the barracks, Sawyer and Juliet are packing up Dharma food (rice, powdered milk and chicken soup can be seen) and clothes so they can leave. Sawyer tells Juliet that she called it the minute the others got back to the island and he should have listened to her. Sawyer asks her if she still has his back. Juliet asks "You still got mine?" At that moment, the alarm sounds throughout the barracks.

Outside, Hurley is carrying the guitar and a backpack and Jin is behind him as they see Radzinsky and the two other guys rushing through the barracks with guns. Jin says something in Korean.

Radzinsky and the two guys burst into Sawyer's house and Radzinsky asks where Sawyer has been. Radzinsky yells that he was shot by a physicist and the new recruits are helping him. He says that the Dharma Initiative has been infiltrated. Sawyer tells him to calm down and then Phil can be heard banging around in the closet. Sawyer says that it sounds like the noise was outside, but Radzinsky heads down the hall. He opens the closet door to find Phil in the closet and then he and the other guys turn their guns on Sawyer and Juliet. Radzinsky screams and Sawyer and Juliet do get down on the ground and the both put their hands up and surrender.

This is what's been expected since Jack and the others came back to the island. The survivors life with the Dharma Initiative is falling apart. The question is, what will be the consequences of their actions? Also, what will happen to Hurley, Jin and Miles. Will they be captured too?
