Ben meets his lawyer Dan Norton, Canton-Rainier van anagram

Sayid and Ben pull into a parking deck to meet Dan Norton, who it turns out is Ben's lawyer. Norton tells Ben that the police have no case against Hurley because the first man was dead before he was busted out of Santa Rosa. He says that Hurley will be a free man after his preliminary hearing in the morning.

Also, the logo on the side of Ben's van "Canton-Rainier" is an anagram for "reincarnation." That's an interesting little easter egg. Could this have something to do with the currently dead John Locke?

Also, what is the relationship between Ben Linus and Dan Norton? How long and what other kinds of things has Dan done for Ben?

Jack and Kate follow Dan Norton, approach Carole LIttleton

Kate and Jack follow Dan Norton to a motel where he goes up to a room to meet Carole Littleton. Kate and Jack both fear that Carole is the one trying to take Aaron, but when Jack goes to talk Carole, he finds out she's just there to settle a lawsuit with Oceanic Airlines. As Carole's sitting on the bed before Jack knocks on the door, she's looking at a photo of Claire.

It's not a coincidence that Dan Norton happens to be Carole's lawyer? Was Ben involved in Dan Norton having Carole's case?

Kate tries to cut a deal with Dan Norton

Kate goes to lawyer Dan Norton's office to offer him a deal about her and Aaron's blood samples. She says she will comply with his request if his client agrees to meet with her. Dan says he's meeting his client later that day and will take the offer to him or her. He's very careful to never let anything slip about gender or any other details. He tells her that his client's answer will be no and that she's in no position to negotiate. He also says that she should be prepared to lose Aaron.

At this point in the episode, we don't know who his client is, but whoever it is, they obviously know a great deal about Kate and/or Claire.

Two men show up for Kate and Aaron's blood sample

Two men from the law firm of Agostini & Norton show up at Kate's door claiming to have a court order for a blood sample from Kate and Aaron to prove whether or not they're related. They do not reveal the name of their client, but this pushes Kate into old habits. She packs up and goes on the run again.

The actor playing Aaron in the third screen capture looks very different than the one in the close-ups. Maybe it's just a continuity problem with his hair, but they may have used a different actor because kids can only work a certain number of hours a day.

I've also included a capture of the photo of Jack and Aaron on the desk near Kate's front door. It seems weird that she would keep that visible when she is upset with Jack.
