Hurley's dad (David Reyes) watches Exposé

So it appears that Exposé is still on the air in 2007. Hurley's dad, David Reyes, makes himself a salami and caviar sandwich and sits down to watch the show. He is interrupted by Hurley coming to the back door with Sayid over his shoulder. Hurley hides as the cops come to question David. The question is, are these cops really cops or people who are interested in Hurley for other reasons?

The numbers return! - Hurley's birthday party

Hurley comes home to with some food from Mr. Clucks (I guess some habits are hard to break) and finds a coconut on the floor in his home. He also hears whispers and grabs the golden Jesus statue to defend himself until he realizes that the whispers are all of his friends waiting to surprise him for his birthday. The DJ at his party has the Geronimo Jackson album next to his turntables (this makes two episodes in a row where we've seen the album cover). In the same shot there is a boy in the background wearing a jersey with the number 4 on it, one of the numbers.

Hurley's dad, David Reyes, takes him to see his birthday present which is the car the never finished when he was a boy. Once again we see the keys to the car are on a rabbit's foot keychain. He gets in to take if for a spin and finds the numbers staring back at him. 481516 on the odometer and 2342 on the trip counter. Hurley freaks out and then takes off down the street. Is this event what led to his return to Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute?

The Oceanic 6 reunited with their families

Here's the Oceanic 6 (Jack, Kate, Aaron, Sun, Sayid, Hurley) about to land at Kalaeloa Airport to be reunited with their families. Oceanic public relations representative Karen Decker lets them know that they're about to land and that they do not have to talk to the press if they don't want to. Jack says that they will talk to the press and they've all agreed to do so. When she leaves, he says, "we all know the story" and "if we get any question we don't want to answer or we can't answer, let's just keep our mouths shut."

When they land at the Coast Guard Air Station, Barbers Point Hurley's parents (Carmen and David Reyes), Jack's mom (Margo Shephard) and Sun's parents (Mr. and Mrs. Paik) are waiting for them. There's a lovely reunion and Hurley introduces his parents to Sayid. No one was waiting for Kate.

In the first show, you can see another person in the plane besides the six and Karen Decker. He/she appears to be a member of the Coast Guard. Why are the six comfortable talking about their cover story in front of this person?
