Sayid is arrested by Sawyer, Miles distracts Nadia

In the sideways, Sayid returns to Nadia's home and quickly begins to pack his suitcase. He doesn't tell Nadia what he has done, but only that her family will be okay now, but he has to leave and never come back.

The doorbell rings, and it's Miles. Nadia stalls as Sayid slips to the back of the house. Miles enters and sees Sayid's abandoned suitcase on the coffee table.

As Sayid attempts to slip out of the back door, Sawyer trips him with a garden hose and makes the arrest.

Sayid says he doesn't deserve Nadia

In the flash sideways, Sayid is fixing a broken vase after a boomerang incident. Then during an emotional conversation, Sayid offers to pay Omer's debt, but Nadia tells him that Omer must resolve his own problems.

Nadia asks him why he doesn't want to be with her, since he carries her picture around with him. She says that Sayid pushed her towards Omer. Sayid says that he's spent the last twelve years trying wash his hands of the bad things he's done. He ends saying "I can't be with you, because I don't deserve you."

So in this timeline, he still has deep regret about the acts he performed in the Republican Guard (presumably that part is generally the same), but his depression seems to be deeper in this timeline.

Omer is rushed to St. Sebastian's, Jack passes Sayid & Nadia

After Sayid takes Eva and Sam to the bus stop, Nadia runs out of the house in a panic. We cut to St. Sebastian's Hospital where Sayid and Nadia pass by Jack in an old school Lost cross.

Omer is being wheeled into surgery with a punctured lung and internal bleeding. The doctor says that he appears to have been mugged. Sayid starts to leave to take care of the situation, but Nadia begs him to let it be and go home and wait for the kids.

Sayid visits Nadia, Omer, Sam & Evan after returning from Australia

At the start of "Sundown" we see Sayid arrive at Nadia's house in a cab, but it is quickly revealed that Nadia is married to Sayid's brother Omer and they have two kids Sam and Eva.

Sayid says that his job is traveling the country, translating oil contracts for an oil company and that's why he was in Australia. Omer runs some dry cleaning businesses and just opened a new store.

When Omer leaves to take a call, Nadia asks Sayid if he received her letters. Sayid says yes and Nadia asks why he never wrote back. The kids come into the room with the boomerangs Sayid brought them from Australia, interrupting the conversation. Eva shows Nadia the picture that Sayid was carrying on the plane as Omer looks in from the other room.

So from the start of the flash sideways, it's clear that Sayid and Nadia have feelings for each other, but what happened in their lives to make it turn out so different? How does Sayid have that photo if it was the one given to him by the CIA and ASIS unless he's lying about his work? Did he still infiltrate the terrorist cell in Australia?

Kate hijacks Claire's taxi, Arzt glares at Sayid

A LAX, we see Sayid again staring at the photo of Nadia while waiting for his bags. Leslie Arzt is giving him a suspicious, almost creepy stare.

Meanwhile, Kate is plotting her escape from the airport. She makes her way through a secure door by watching an employee type in the access code. As she makes her way to the taxi stand, Neil Frogurt stops her and makes her get in line. She gets behind Hurley who is complaining about using the term Outback, presumably for his restaurant, Mr. Clucks.

Kate then notices the Marshall Edward Mars talking to police officers when they both catch each other's eye. He comes after her but she makes a break for it by hi-jacking a cab. The cab driver is played by David H. Lawrence XVII who plays Eric Doyle on Heroes. Kate pulls a gun on him and then discovers the passenger in the back of the cab is none other than Claire Littleton.

Oceanic 815 lands at LAX + Charlie taken by police

Back on Oceanic 815, Charlie has been restrained and as he passes Jack he says "Should'a let that happen man, I was supposed to die." That sounds ominously like season 3.

When Jack returns to his seat, Desmond is gone and he asks Rose where he went and she says that she and Bernard were asleep.

Everyone prepares for the landing, each with different looks on their face. Sawyer and Hurley look fairly indifferent, Sayid looks at his photo of Nadia and seems eager to find her, Jin gazes at the Rolex watch he's supposed to deliver while Sun shows no emotion, Kate looks terrified and Jack looks pleased, yet surprised.

Charlie is first off and is escorted by two policemen. Edward Mars removes the infamous case which cracked him in the head on the first flight 815.

Boone says goodbye to Locke who seems happy like he was earlier. We then see that sad, miserable look fall across his face. Jack and he share a similar look as we saw at the start of the first flight 815. Locke forces a smile while Jack looks a bit dazed. We then see Locke lifted onto the chair and he is wheel off the plane. The look of sheer misery on his face is that of the Locke we've come to know, so was he lying about actually going on the walkabout to seem less pathetic than his life was/is or did his past actually change like it seems it did for other passengers?

Nadia is struck and killed by a vehicle, Jacob touches Sayid

In 2005, Sayid and Nadia are walking up the street happily discussing where they should spend their first anniversary. Jacob is standing on the sidewalk behind them as the weight to cross the street. As Nadia enters the street, Jacob asks Sayid for help because he is lost. Nadia turns back to tell Sayid that she found her sunglasses when she is hit by a silver SUV. As Sayid looks it shock as Nadia is struck, Jacob briefly touches his shoulder.

The silver SUV speeds off and another car passes through the intersection as Sayid runs towards Nadia. As Nadia is dying, she says "Take me home" in Arabic multiple times. Sayid grasps her hand with his as she dies.

It would seem that Jacob intervened here to either cause Nadia's death or to keep Sayid from being hit by the vehicle too. What is the significance of the fact that Sayid was touched by Jacob after the Oceanic 6 were rescued and Kate, Sawyer and Jack were visited before the crash of Oceanic 815?

Sayid and Nadia reunited

Sayid and Nadia are reunited outside the hangar after the Oceanic 6 press conference. It was a nice scene and we learned in "The Shape of Things To Come" that they got married and then she was killed.

Nadia's funeral procession, Ishmael Bakir, Ben's press vehicle, Bakir traffic photo

Ben shows up in Tikrit, Iraq where Sayid is taking part in Nadia's funeral procession. We see a man carrying a picture of her as well as a casket with Arabic writing, presumably her name.

Ben arrives in a SUV with "PRESS" on it's windows. How exactly does he procure a press vehicle in a country with a war going on? He immediately goes to the roof of a building to shoot photos of Ishmael Bakir, an associate of Charles Widmore who may have been responsible for Nadia's death. Ben shows Sayid a picture of Bakir taken with a traffic camera in Los Angeles. Ben says he was speeding away from the scene of Nadia's death.

Sayid on television in Tunisia

Ben sees Sayid on TV in Tozeur, Tunisia. Sayid is being hounded by the press when he is on his way to bury his wife, Nadia. Hopefully we'll see more of the story of Sayid and Nadia in future episodes.
